About the Role
The Media Associate (MA), who must be proficient in written and spoken English, supports the development and implementation of media and communication strategies across Asia Centre’s regional offices. This includes drafting high-quality multimedia content, managing social media platforms, and supporting Media Officer (MO) the production of visual documentation such as photos, videos, and infographics, all while upholding the professionalism and integrity of the Asia Centre brand.
Key Responsibilities
Content Drafting & Documentation
- Assist in drafting press releases, news articles, and reports.
- Ensure all key points are accurately documented and aligned with the programme’s and organisation’s goals.
Media Production Support
- Assist in setting up and operating media equipment for photography, audio, and videography.
- Maintain professional standards in all media outputs to reflect the organisation’s brand and messaging.
- Ensure timely dissemination of event-related materials to relevant stakeholders.
Media Campaigns and Outreach
- Collaborate with the Media Officer to plan and execute media campaigns that amplify Asia Centre’s initiatives.
- Assist in maintaining relationships with media outlets, journalists, and partners.
Inventory & Equipment Management
- Maintain an inventory of media tools and equipment, ensuring proper functionality and readiness for use.
Website Maintenance
- Assist in maintaining the professionalism and functionality of the organisation’s website.
Brand Consistency & Guidelines
- Adhere to Asia Centre’s brand guidelines, ensuring all media outputs consistently reflect the organisation’s professional standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
Experience:
- At least 1-2 years of experience in media production, communications, or a related role.
- Experience with content drafting (e.g., press releases, news articles) and editing.
- Familiarity with media equipment (cameras, microphones, lighting) and multimedia tools (e.g., Adobe Suite, Canva).
Skills:
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to document information accurately.
- Technical skills in photography, audio/video recording, and editing.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. Following the interview, a timed, written assessment will be issued as part of a proficiency test. A further interview and final selection will be made thereafter.
