Established in 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, the Asia Centre AI Hub seeks to assist in the digital transformation of  civil society organisations by increasing their knowledge on AI and the  use of AI tools to promote democracy and human rights.

At the AI Hub, activities will include: research on AI topics that impact civil society; design and implementation of curriculum AI capacity- building programmes for CSOs; convenings to   discuss the development and implementation of AI policies that can benefit civil society; and movement-building for CSOs to share their views  on the impact of AI and experiences with digital transformation.

The AI Hub aims to serve as a focal point for development agencies, government agencies, INGOs and technology companies who want to work with civil society organisations (CSOs) in the Indo-Pacific region.

The Asia Centre AI Hub is part of the Asia Centre group of entities that includes the Asia Centre Media Hub in Malaysia, and the Asia Centre Research Hub in Bangkok, Thailand and the Asia Centre Training Hub in Phnom Penh Cambodia.  

Asia Centre is a civil society research institute that was founded in Bangkok, Thailand in 2015 and was granted the UN ECOSOC Special Consultative Status in 2021.
